The young Laura Marling has been making waves over in Europe for quite some time now, she has a brand new album called I Speak Because I Can which is her second full length, Laura is making her way to SPACE Gallery on May 11th with with The Middle East and Smoke Fairies.

Tomorrow Chicago Band Maps & Atlases bring their math rock/indie/German pop? to SPACE Gallery. They just finished playing a few shows with Minus The Bear who also came through Portland recently. Local openers Brenda and Dead Man’s clothes make their first visit to SPACE. Doors at 8pm.

Destry who on Tuesday, December 1st are playing an All Ages show here at SPACE along with Nightmare Of You, Fly Upright Kite & Colors have just released their new album, It Goes On through Paper + Plastick. Here’s a new video just posted by the band, plus a few other tracks from lead singer Michelle DaRosa’s band Straylight Run, which she has recently departed from, bassist Shaun Cooper is doing double time, playing in both Straylight Run as well as Destry, Busy guy!

Pinsky at SPACE Gallery July 24th

Pinsky who played one of are All Ages shows awhile back have recently launched a new website and Myspace layout, which feature pictures from SPACE Gallery as well as a video shoot the boys have been working on that will feature some footage shot at the July 24th show, as well as other party footage the guys shot in their own homes. Check out the teaser video below, and keep an eye out for the final version!

This poster is a 4 color screen print, the image comes from a page out of my sketchbook originally done with coffee, acrylic paint and micron’s. The image was drawn again for the poster and to be able to separate it into different colors. Also a different layer of spray paint splatters was added as well.

I use the computer to separate each color and print out the layers.

Images printed out on paper then oiled.

The first layer of half the posters were printed in gold. The other half in baby blue. There is an edition of 52 of these posters.

I used 6 different colors of paper for the backround, So there are alot of different variations of this poster. Only 2 dark blue ones!

Sometimes awesome dogs named Capone come and distract you!
