With What Cheer? Brigade

SPACE presents Field Day in Payson Park. Join us for a pre-July 4th family-friendly celebration with a day full of play complete with all of the weird, wild, and wonderful surprises you expect from SPACE. Field Day is made possibile with support from the Horizon Foundation and Elsie Lee Garthwaite Memorial Foundation.

 

Plan to:

+ Bring a picnic blanket and a favorite game or book

+ Make a costume or dress to the nines to keep our field games strange

+ Decorate your wheels ahead of time for our bike parade around the back bay!

+ Unplug and connect with your community!


Bike Parade around the Back Cove,

gathering at 1:00p | peddling starts 1:30p

  • Convene at at the Payson Park Triangle (at the intersection of Catafalque Drive and Baxter Blvd) to start. We’ll have a range of artist-bikes set up in the triangle for those not on wheels to do mobile printmaking and more!
  • We will be joined by a bubble bike from Chris Miller & New Design Paradigm Design Worksop and a wearable puppet from Chris Patch (@christopherpatch ).

Fun & Field Games

including costumed kickball, three-legged races, water balloon tosses for the brave of heart, bocce, and other weird, wild, and wonderful events to be revealed.

1:30p – 5:00p

  • inflatable sculpture (Fabric Prism No. 2) with Providence-based artists Pneuhaus ( @pneuhaus )
  • all this juggling with Janoah anygoodjokes? Bailin
  • carnival games with Bomb Diggity Arts ( @bomb_diggity_arts )
  • flashy photo booth with Enrique Mendia ( @space_summe_enrique_jake )

5:00p- A free outdoor concert with What Cheer? Brigade ( @whatcheerbrigade )
