MILO & ELUCID LITEBLUE-MOVERS TOUR WITH LYOKHA
8:00PM
Born in Chicago to parents younger than he is now, 24 year-old milo was given the government-name of Rory Ferreira. Raised in Saco, Maine, he has since relocated to LA, where he joined up with the alt-hip-hop collective Hellfyre Club and underground legend Busdriver, and then again to Milwaukee, where he founded the independent maker’s guild and record label, Ruby Yacht. milo’s delivery is a rhythmic style of spoken word, and he name drops writers and philosophers as much as he does ’90s Nickelodeon shows and WWF wrestlers. His music is honest and open, unpretentious and accessible. Though he’ll namedrop Bertrand Russell, he’s not trying to make you feel dumb, just suggesting you might like the guy’s writing. Either way, it’s not music for the passive listener. milo returns to SPACE on the heels of a career year; his latest album So the Flies Don’t Come made year-end album lists in Rolling Stone, Spin, The Boston Globe, and others. He’ll be joined by Brooklyn rapper Elucid, one-half of Armand Hammer and collaborator of Open Mike Eagle, Tanya Morgan, J*Davey, Beans, Rob Sonic, and others. Beatmaking mavens LYOKHA open the night with a synth-heavy set featuring special guest vocalists.
