Join us for a dynamic reading from 6 writers whose work in language overflows from books into the world taking shape as games, vocal performances, artworks, coding and other uncategorizable forms and experiences. Hosted by writer and musician Nat Baldwin.
CLAIRE DONATO is the author of the not-novel novel Burial (Tarpaulin Sky Press, 2013) and The Second Body (Poor Claudia, 2016), a full-length collection of poems. Recent writing has appeared in BOMB, Encyclopedia L-Z, Fanzine, Ninth Letter, Poetry Society of America, and PLINTH. She is a curator at Babycastles, a New York City-based DIY art collective and gallery dedicated to building platforms for diversity in indie games culture, and works as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Architecture Writing and BFA Writing Programs at Pratt Institute. She received an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University and will be a 2016-2017 Digital Studies Fellow at Rutgers University.
IAN HATCHER is a text/sound/code artist, author of Prosthesis (Poor Claudia, 2016), and developer of the poetry app Abra, a collaboration with Amaranth Borsuk and Kate Durbin. His code-inflected vocal performances have been presented widely in the US and Europe. He lives in New York.
DANNIEL SCHOONEBEEK is the author of American Barricade (YesYes Books, 2014) and the forthcoming collection of poems Trébuchet, which was a 2015 National Poetry Series selection and will be published by University of Georgia Press in 2016. Recent work appears in The New Yorker, Fence, Kenyon Review, and elsewhere.
GREGORY HOWARD teaches creative writing, contemporary literature, and film studies at the University of Maine. His first novel Hospice was released on FC2. His fiction and essays have appeared in Web Conjunctions, Harp & Altar, and Tarpaulin Sky, among other journals. He lives in Bangor, Maine with his wife and cats.
NAT BALDWIN is a writer and musician living in Portland, Maine. His fiction has appeared in PANK, Sleepingfish, Alice Blue, Timber, Deluge, andThe Spectacle. He has released several solo albums and plays bass in Dirty Projectors. He is currently pursuing a BA in English at the University of Southern Maine.
CAITLIN CORRIGAN lives and works in southern Maine. Her fiction was included in the Word Portland anthology, BE WILDER (Pine Pitch Press), and has also appeared in SmokeLong Quarterly, The Los Angeles Review, Word Riot, the Tin House Open Bar blog, and elsewhere. She earned an MFA from
Rutgers University in 2014.
