These posters were designed by Martha Rich, a Philadelphia-based artist born in Bangor, Maine. She is a graduate of Art Center College of Design and the University of Pennsylvania and spends her days making art for fun and money, and teaching one semester a year in the MFA Illustration program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Rich worked in corporate America for 15 years when at 35, to cope with divorce, she quit her job in HR at Universal Studios, went back to school and became a freelance illustrator and fine artist. Her work can be seen on murals, socks, and shopping bags, in magazines, in music videos, and most recently in her book, The Furious Notebook: Release Your Rage. Use Your Anger For Good. And Chill the Heck Out, published by Chronicle Books in September 2019.

In 2017 in a fit of frustration, she ran for office and is now the Democratic Committee Member for Ward 2, Division 10 in Philadelphia. “This basically means I am the liaison to the Democratic Ward Leader for about a 6 block radius. Our Democratic Ward is responsible for staffing the polls, making endorsements for Democratic candidates, GOTV, communicating about elections, helping register voters, and offering any kind of assistance in regards to voting or questions about almost anything. It’s a 4-year term. It’s been eye-opening.” Rich also volunteers for Swing Left and is a big advocate for voting.

She is represented by the Webb Gallery in Waxahachie, Texas.
