A Night of Reproduction

A Night of Reproduction is the first of a three part performative series, PAST PRESENT FUTURE. Maine based performers, musicians and artists take on the task of reproduction. A reproduction of a moment, person or experience that has been pivotal to the practice of this evening’s clever mortals; whether it be but a mere ephemeral occurrence or a colossal download, a trivial introduction or a sudden fascination. While it’s more of a common practice to create visual reproductions, what happens when those who are inclined to perform decide to reproduce? The end result may be a replica, but then again it could be a piece that’s been taken in, chewed, swallowed and hurled up just right… A Night of Reproduction is a variety show that includes moments of dance by the undulating Pia Louise Capaldi, burlesque by that golden vamp Holly D’anger and Rosie Rimjob, fresh puppetry by Motionfolk Theater, brilliantly spastic music created by The Asthmatic and Tim Fite, Gitgo Productions directing their fascination with parallel female outliers and Corey Gagne rectifying a childhood experience through storytelling.  Whatever the result of a reproduction is, is up to one’s own volition.
