What Cheer? Brigade with Math the Band and The Outfits

The What Cheer? Brigade is a 19-piece brass band from Providence, RI that sounds like an aggressive mix of Bollywood, The Balkans, New Orleans, Samba and Hip-Hop. Since 2005, the band has been as likely to appear at community benefits as at all-night parties, playing bars, clubs, streets, libraries, cemeteries, weddings, bus stops and playgrounds. Requiring no amplification, their live shows defy boundaries—literally. The last time they played SPACE, their set ended in the streets.
They’re joined by Anchor Brain Records label mates Math the Band, who make extremely fast and fun music out of vintage synthesizers, drum machines, hand made electronics, broken guitars, video game systems and broken drums. The Outfits,”a husband and wife band” in their own words, open with their carefree and compelling punk.
