Jacob Augustine and Band with Snowblink and Audrey Ryan
8:00PM
Jacob Augustine is an experimental folk musician from the Northern woods of Maine whose haunting, elegiac voice commands closer listening. For this show, Jacob will be joined by a full backing band. Of his 2012 EP the Portland Press Herald said “Bikini Island is an affecting, arresting release, one of those rare pieces of musical art that stays with you long after the last note has faded and your speakers have grown silent.” Toronto’s Snowblink (Daniela Gesundheit and Dan Goldman) makes gorgeous indie pop that has been called “one of the most compelling new voices on the Canadian scene” (CBC), opening for Jeff Tweedy, Owen Pallett, Timber Timbre, Ohbijou, Great Lake Swimmers and The Hidden Cameras. Gesundheit’s voice (called “inhumanly smooth” by Interview Magazine) soars along the perfectly crafted songs. Boston-based Audrey Ryan, originally from coastal Maine, is a one-woman-band multi-instrumentalist whose music draws from many genres–folk, jazz, pop and rock. She also wrote a book we like a lot called The Need To Be Heard – A Book for DIY Musicians.
