Kaki King and Lady Lamb the Beekeeper
8:30PM
Hailed by Rolling Stone as “a genre unto herself,” Kaki King is one of the most striking solo guitarists of our time, constantly kicking at the boundaries of what’s expected. The Atlanta-born, Brooklyn-based guitarist/composer has recorded five extraordinarily diverse and distinctive LPs, performed with such icons as Foo Fighters, Timbaland, and The Mountain Goats, contributed to a variety of film and TV soundtracks including Golden Globe-nominated work on Sean Penn’s Into The Wild. Her newest album, Glow, is both an evolution of her style and a return to the stunning guitar work that put her on the map. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper writes sprawling lyric and melody-based songs about lost, true & unrequited love; nostalgia, nectarine meat & wolf maulings; plum crumb cake & mustard colors. We generally can’t say enough good things about Lady Lamb The Beekeeper around SPACE and are eagerly awaiting her 2013 release on Ba Da Bing Records (Beirut, etc).
