The Brothers When Connected

Colleen Kinsella

INFO
Jun 16, 2008 – Aug 2, 2008
In the Window

Alan and Rick Bishop founded the band Sun City Girls with Charles Gocher in 1982. Their uncompromising approach to all things art and music has a cult following and inspired a generation of musicians. They celebrate 25 years of making music with their late great friend and brother in spirit Charles Gocher at SPACE on Friday, June 20. Charles was best known for his unpredictable old-school almost-jazz style drums in Sun City Girls. But his talents stretched far beyond his drums as an avant performance artist, unconventional singer/ songwriter and filmmaker. June 20th, Charles Gocher’s videos will be shown followed by local yokels Fire on Fire and finishing with what could be Sun City Girls’ final performance.

In the SPACE front window local artist Colleen Kinsella brings color, dimension and life to Charles Gocher’s memorial with an installation using paper as sculpture to create Kinsella’s view of Sun City Girls live. The Brothers When Connected opens on Monday June 16th. Keep your eyes open. The rest is a secret.
