Light In the Dark is a group show of works in sculpture, photography, video, new media and performance. Working with light as a medium, the artists had each discovered that it is inherently ethereal, barely there, dreamy, and suggestive of spirit beyond form—yet always seeking form to define itself. As a result, the show examines how the 15 artists have captured and pinned down light to form. Works include illuminated photography or night lights, projection onto mist or ice, and a three dimensional painting on plexiglass. Most use electricity, some use humor, and some respond to war.
