Hail Linnet
As a figurative painter and sculptor, Hail's (fka Hale) work is concerned with the human experience, and the underlying paradox of universal and particular lived experiences that connect us all. Much of their work explores themes of gender, queerness, sexuality, self-exploration and self-love.
Hail's current painting practice is exploring self-romance, and being their own greatest romantic partner. Hail led a collaborative sculptural project funded by the American Rescue Plan Project Grants administered by SPACE, in which 19 menstruating people were cast in plaster to create a figurative sculpture of inserting a tampon. The 19 models contributed stories of their lived experience in a menstruating body. They are an active community organizer and a founding member of the Brazen Bandits collective.
