Rummage Lane is a new dance-theater piece that explores object-memory and intergenerational relationships. Through a collection of accumulating chalices, the work crafts a series of scenarios that demand the excavation of the dancers’ cognitive and physical relationships to the past through these objects in a deeply sculptural and physical work. (Run time approximately 30 minutes).
Hannah Haines and Kelsie Steil are a Maine-based choreographic duo. Kelsie and Hannah began their choreographic collaboration in 2022, and since then have presented both improvised and choreographed works throughout New England. Their work explores the complexity of memory and how the past impacts our perception of the present through theatrical contemporary dance ranging from dark to absurd. To learn more about their collaborative and individual works visit their websites at hthaines.com and kelsiesteilmovement.com.
Rummage Lane was funded in part by New England Foundation for the Arts’ New England Dance Fund, with generous support from the Aliad Fund at the Boston Foundation.
