Last seen on the SPACE stage with Horse Jumper of Love and Sadurn in summer of 2022, Hudson Valley indie-rockers Babehoven returns!
Babehoven is a band fronted by singer-songwriter Maya Bon and collaborator Ryan Albert in Hudson, NY. Their new album Water’s Here In You is available everywhere on April 26 via Double Double Whammy.
Written and recorded at the duo’s home studio throughout the winter of 2022 — 2023, Water’s Here In You comes close on the heels of Babehoven’s debut album Light Moving Time, which followed an impressively prolific canon of shorter releases dating back to 2017, when Bon founded the project in college. Their latest album continues the thread of the band’s sonic DNA — blending hyper-melodic indie and folk rock with shades of shoegaze and the occasional nod toward country. Across twelve varied and meticulous tracks, Babehoven offers their take on finding connection, groundedness, and growth in what we all carry within us.
After finishing the new record, Babehoven spent much of 2023 on the road — supporting acts like Slow Pulp, Indigo de Souza, MJ Lenderman, and more at home and nationwide. Keeping up their prolific track record, the band looks to continue touring and prepping new music throughout 2024 and beyond.
Lily Seabird is a perceptive songwriter who can channel moments when everything feels raw and overwhelming into something healing and galvanizing. With Alas, the Burlington, VT-based artist’s sophomore album, she confronts grief with palpable clarity on tracks that careen from delicate folk to blistering indie rock. While it’s her second LP, it serves as a proper introduction to an undeniable and idiosyncratic voice. “Alas, sounds way more like me,” she says. “This is the album I wanted to make in the first place.”
Hello Shark is comprised of Newburyport, MA native Linc Halloran, Sean Hood and Alex Decato. In 2006, he released his debut album Bumble Bees and Organ Trees and Book Lungs. Known for his gentle, crushing and enigmatically personal songwriting, Hello Shark stands as one of the most influential yet misprized artists in today’s indie/lo-fi scene.
