Smokebreak, 2High, 2Way, and Bone Cold Dave Boston are Going 2 Hell, the unholy alliance of members of Mouth Washington, $300, An Anderson, and approximately twenty other nefarious local gangs. In their short life as a high concept rock outfit, they’ve developed a rabid fanbase of self-proclaimed “meatheads” and started online beefs with nearly every band in a 30-mile radius. They were voted “Portland, Maine’s Most Dangerous Band” by a jury of their peers. Rumors of a new studio album could not be confirmed by our press deadline, but those seeking aural punishment can find the one-track “Helliday Scrom-Com Demo” somewhere on the Dark Web.

Fresh on the scene, Bmola makes absurd doom, unequivocally from Maine. Their music addresses the major struggles of daily life in our state through “songs of love, loss and lobster men.”

Hailed by Alternative Press as the “…glorious love child of Joan Jett & Kurt Cobain,” theWorst has been on a meteoric rise since their inception. Led by bandleader and true survivor, Brooke Binion, the band has gained a reputation as a one-of-a-kind raucous live act, fueled by an aggressive raw sound, anthemic songs and a brutally honest lyricism that is rare in today’s highly commercial and often fabricated mainstream music scene. Having toured nationwide and coast to coast since 2016, theWorst is composed of Brooke Binion on lead vocals and guitar, Will Bradford (SeepeopleS) on bass and Craig Sala (Paranoid Social Club, Planeside) on drums. The band earned wide critical acclaim with the release of their debut album Jane Doe Embryo (RascalZRecordZ 2017) and their sophomore album Yes Regrets (RascalZ RecordZ 2022), which featured musical contributions from members of Morphine and The Distillers. Recently, the band dropped their third studio effort, an EP titled Quiet the Gods (RascalZ RecordZ 2024). Heavyweight media outlets have recently taken notice, with the band garnering feature coverage in ALT-Press, Revolver, Under The Radar, Brooklyn Vegan, NewNoise, ChorusFM and Glide Magazine to name a few.
