Zach Hefferen is a lifelong advocate for the arts, with deep roots in Maine and a career of robust experience across many aspects of the art world. He spent 16 years at Sotheby’s New York, primarily within the Contemporary Art Department, where he served as Vice President and Business Director in the Fine Arts Division. During his time at Sotheby’s, Zach participated in many benchmark moments of auction history, and found himself at the forefront of change and innovation in a department that led the way into the future of auction and private sales. Zach earned his degree at Middlebury College, where he graduated Cum Laude with a BA in International Studies focused on the History of Art and Architecture, and a minor in Studio Art. Zach has spent the past several years as a full-time elder caregiver and parent, while continuing to champion the arts in his community. He lives in Falmouth with his wife, journalist Conz Preti, and their three children. Zach will be serving his first term on the SPACE Board.
