Daily Path
Daily Path is an on-the-ground map installation and experimental guidebook to the city of Portland following a day in the life of residents who rely on walking as their primary mode of transportation. Facilitated by Caitlin Cameron, the project physically maps the paths of five diverse residents using painted lines throughout the city. These residents become your guides in a unique companion art book that uses their real, daily paths to reveal how car-free locals experience Portland.
During the course of one week, five Portland residents, known as “guides,” will document their daily paths throughout the city. Their experiences will be shared with a broader audience through the Daily Path project which has three components – an on-the-ground map of each participant’s path taken from one, simultaneous day painted temporarily on the sidewalks which people may follow like trails, a limited edition art-guidebook based on the experiences of the “guides,” and an online presence with information about the project. j
