Despite the 3166 mapped islands in the Gulf of Maine, the number of islands where people live year-round has dwindled to just 15 today from a high of about 300 a century ago. Join us for an evening of short films celebrating life on Maine islands and beyond, as we celebrate the Maine-made narrative short We Were an Island, inspired by the life of the Kellam couple and the award-winning book about their remote island lifestyle by Peter Blanchard III.
