THE TRAVELING FOUNDRY METAL CASTING WORKSHOP FOR ARTISTS PRESENTED WITH ARTSHAPE MAMMOTH

Together, SPACE and ASM will be hosting an aluminum casting workshop for ten artists at Thompson’s Point. Each artist will be provided with a sand block to carve, hand carving tools, and aluminum to cast the sculptures. Under the supervision of foundry technicians, James Lentz and Margaret Coleman, molten metal will be poured into each mold after carving is completed. Informal conversation and light food and drinks will follow the morning’s activities. Spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. A material fee of $30 – $60 on a sliding scale basis is required. Fees must be paid in advance of the workshop to reserve your spot.
