Brian Killeen has painted in Maine for over 8 years. The story of everyday life runs through all of his work. Whether it is his sons’ clothes drying on the radiator, or people shuffling along Congress Street, Brian’s paintings capture the quiet dignity and humor of the ordinary. He also does abstract paintings that echo the color palette of his observational paintings. Brian has shown his work around Maine in numerous art festivals, eateries, and open studios. He works both at home and in his studio above Space Gallery in Portland. Brian grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri, and earned a BFA in illustration at the University of Kansas. Brian is an at-home father of two boys and husband of Bowdoin professor and actor Abbie Killeen.
