Devin Dobrowolski

Devin Dobrowolski is an Assistant Professor in Architecture at the University of Virginia, where his primary teaching role is in the Design Thinking/Design Practices concentration. He has worked at Barkow Leibinger Architeken in Berlin and Somatic Collaborative. Devin has served as an assistant instructor and teaching assistant for a wide variety of courses including: Integrated Building Systems, Construction Methods, Engineering Projects in Community Service, Landscape Representation I and II. He brings to UVA School of Architecture a range of experiences related to design from serving as a CNC and Fabrication Shop technical assistant for many years to working on a variety of publications, exhibitions, and graphic design projects. He recently contributed to the publication São Paulo: A Graphic Biography as a designer and researcher, and Jakarta: Models of Collective Space for the Extended Metropolis as a layout designer and editor. 

Devin was the 2018 recipient of the Butler Traveling Fellowship, awarded by the School of Architecture at Princeton University, for his research titled, "Water as Infrastructure: Mapping the Lower Colorado River Basin." He was also the 2016 ASLA Merit Award winner at the GSD. Devin's work has been exhibited at the Opa Locka Arts Center in Miami, Florida; Aucocisco Galleries in Portland, Maine; and Ogunquit Museum of Contemporary Art in Ogunquit, Maine.
