John Fireman’s focus is feature-length, experimental documentary films. He also works in video, sound, multimedia installation, photography, electroacoustic music composition, and performance.  His work was included in Perfoma 2011, and has been presented in such venues as the Abrons Art Center (NYC), Judson Church (NYC), and the Museum of Art and Design (NYC). Holland Cotter, art critic for the New York Times called John’s documentary work ‘very funny.’

Fireman has an MBA in entertainment media and technology from New York University and a BFA in film theory from Yale University.  Fireman recently completed a feature‐length screenplay about terrorist Mohammed Atta’s last night on earth. His movie Sigrid on her 14th Birthday (still featured above) has been screened throughout New England and beyond. Fireman is currently working on two documentary films, one about a girls high school basketball team, and the other an improvised conversation between two generations of regional storytellers. He currently teaches in the New Media Department at MECA.
