Tim Keeshen
Keeshen’s work reaches from coast-to-coast, from his interest in land to spatial art. Educated at the Forman School in Litchfield, CT., he concentrated on set design/video production, graduating with honors.
His site specific installations were in city parks/public spaces. One exhibit stretched for a mile through San Jose California. Later awarded an undergraduate scholarship at San Jose State University, CA., he pursued wood working/large-scale sculpture. His work was exhibited at Scheffield Hallan University in England, where he attended as an exchange scholar.
As a post-graduate, Keeshen lived in New York City exploring cityscapes and space through color and geometric form, working with acrylic on canvas. He spent two decades in Portland, Maine with Mainely Frames Gallery as a master framer. He built a 14 foot sailboat and sailed for many years on Casco Bay. This access to the water encouraged a new direction in his painting.
Along the way his interests developed in building maintenance and he now works at a retirement community, Ocean View at Falmouth. He continues exploring woodworking as well as painting. Tim lives in Falmouth Maine with his wife, where he paints landscapes which are a transformation from his earlier geometric works.
