Darkly absurd, poignant and timely, BELOW and BEYOND is a new play about natural gas extraction, urban camouflage, immortal jellyfish, and an underground creek-turned-sewer. Created by performers Beth Nixon and Sarah Lowry, directed by Donna Sellinger (of The Missoula Oblongata) and with Matthew Schreiber as a one-man band, the performance takes inspiration from the long-submerged Mill Creek of West Philadelphia, as well as current debate about fracking in Pennsylvania. Puppets, pulleys, movement and maps all explore the complications of what lies beneath our feet. With an opening theatrical performance by Portland-based performer Kelly Nesbitt.
