Bluestocking Film Series

INFO
Friday, July 18 2014

Join us for 2 nights of provocative short films featuring fascinating, multifaceted women characters. Since 2011, The Bluestocking Film Series has engaged Portland audiences with an array of well-produced, award-winning international short films that place women front and center, driving the story and leading the action. As part of the Bluestocking mission, the series also nurtures emerging cinema artists who are bound to influence the future of filmed entertainment.

The Bluestocking Film Series is Maine’s only women in film event, the only one in the world to require selected films feature female protagonist, and the first US film event to receive Sweden’s A-Rating (a consumer rating that indicates Bechdel Test compliance).

All of the 2014 selected films are Maine Premieres and the program also includes three World Premieres (from US, Canada, and Sweden).
