Diva Practice With Kaj-Anne Pepper

Info
Saturday, December 1 2018
12:00 PM TO 2:00 PM

Join performance artist Pepper Pepper for a two-hour movement workshop-inspired by contemporary dance, theatrical improvisation, and drag! This playful, dance-based class practices embodiment, spacial awareness and lip-synch to experience new ways of being present with space, place, self. Open to all levels. Wear comfortable moveable cloths and bring a love of pop music.

This workshop is limited to 12 participants. To reserve your spot, please email elizabeth@space538.org.

Please note: Many of our events contain special lighting effects. Occasionally we bring in external teams that produce their own lighting closer to show day. We will always advertise on the doors if strobe lights are in use. If you are sensitive to lighting or sound effects and have further questions, please reach out atinfo@space538.org or 207-828-5600

Kaj-anne Pepper AKA Pepper Pepper is a multidisciplinary artist who works in performance, video, drag, installation, theatre, and dance.

“So Spice They Named Her Twice” Kaj-anne’s drag persona “Pepper Pepper” is a humorous yet thoughtful gender-bending MC and entertainer. Together they explore vulnerability, artifice, and identity while turning tragic into magic and trauma into drama.

Pepper has premiered hybridized dance/theatre work at RISK/REWARD, DANCE+ The Headwater’s Theatre, PICA’s T: BA festival, Performance Works Northwest, and internationally at OFF! Biennale Budapest. Pepper has exhibited 2D, 3D, and installation work at Linfield College and at The Budapest Art Fair.
