Embroidery With Dee Clements
1:00PM
Come see Sophia Narrett’s installation of embroidered paintings I Was Dreaming This and get inspiration to learn embroidery techniques. We will spend the first hour of the class learning embroidery stitches and techniques using an embroidery hoop, needle and thread to make a stitch sampler. The second and third hour of class will be devoted to developing a small embroidered illustration centered around a narrative or concept. No previous stitch work is necessary. Examples of different types of embroidery work will be brought in to view and pass around. All materials will be provided.
About the instructor: Dee Clements is the owner and craftswoman behind the label Herron Clothier, a small weaving company that focuses on hand crafted, slow design garments and accessories for women.
