During the Gaza War in 2008-2009, more than 1,400 Palestinians were killed, mostly by Israeli aerial bombardment. Afterwards, Ashtar Theatre conducted a theater workshop with 13- to 18-year-olds in Gaza, which resulted in more than 30 monologues written by the teenagers.
The original production, by Ashtar as The Gaza Mono-Logues in 2010, was performed that year in Palestine as well as in New York City at the United Nations and La MaMa theater.
This program is excerpted from the original text. Info and full text of the original production available here.
