Hangs Upon Nothing is a 16mm film about experiencing life on earth as a surfer. The film follows the wanderings of Chuck Corbett, a surfer who left everything behind at the age of 18, to go and surf the remote atolls of Kiribati. He stayed there for 30 years. It next follows a group of brothers, the Jones brothers, from Hawaii as they explore Kiribati and Indonesia in their pursuit of perfect waves. Lastly, the film follows a group of young local Indonesian surfers from the surf mecca of Bali, as they grow up amongst a sea of tourism, development, night life, and surf.
