House Show #8: Ruth Garbus

Brattleboro, Vermont songwriter Ruth Garbus joins us for SPACE House Shows, our weekly live stream concert series, every Tuesday night at 8pm EST on Instagram.

Ruth Garbus’ distinctive voice, ever-moving melodies, and hypnotic songwriting have graced five solo records, as well as several more as a member of seminal New England psych-folk outfit Feathers, Sub Pop power trio Happy Birthday, and free-improv super group Gloyd. Her latest album, Kleinmeister, is a truly quintessential album of modern songcraft; equally sublime and absurd, wide open and ever amorphous, yet meticulously precise, and sonically and lyrically infused with the green hills, grey cemeteries, and plastic detritus of her Brattleboro, Vermont home.

These shows are member-supported and it’s because of our members’ generosity that we’re able to run this concert series and ensure that all performers are paid. We firmly believe in compensating artists fairly and these times are no different.
