Informant takes a penetrating look at Brandon Darby, a radical activist turned FBI informant who has been both vilified and deified, but never fully understood. Darby was known as a hero of left-wing activists organizing in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, but later he allied himself with right-wing forces helping to entrap protesters at the 2008 Republican convention (depicted in the documentary Better This World). Darby opens up in this film to explain his mysterious motives.

Followed by Q&A with director Jamie Meltzer and Michael May, producer of the radio piece for This American Life about informant Brandon Darby that aired in 2009. Michael also teaches radio at the Salt Institute here in Portland.

Co-Presented with the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies and Camden International Film Festival.
