Insight: Brown Bag Lunch with Reanimation Library Creator Andrew Beccone
12:00PM
Insight members are invited to a pre-opening launch of the Reanimation Library Congress Street Branch and a conversation with founder Andrew Beccone.
Andrew organized the Reanimation Library (whose main branch is in Brooklyn, NY) as an “independent presence library”. Each branch is comprised of books collected from thrift stores, flea markets, give-away piles, and used bookstores, chosen primarily for the images found inside them. Branch libraries are independent, site-sourced manifestations which allow the project to travel from location to location, engaging communities who may otherwise be unable to visit the main Brooklyn branch. SPACE is proud to host the Congress Street Branch of the Reanimation Library in the annex from March through May 2015. (For more information on the Reanimation Library, visit www.reanimationlibrary.org.)
Insight members, please join us for a private viewing of the collection, as well as an opportunity to hear Andrew discuss his project. Please bring your own lunch. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. Space is limited to 20 people; RSVP to anne@space538.org or by calling (207) 828-5600.
This event is open to Insight members, a devoted group of SPACE supporters who give $250 or more per year. To join the Insight program, click here or call us at (207) 828-5600.
