Jeffrey Lewis is a comic book artist and indie-songwriter, based in NYC, and treading in the musical realms of Yo La Tengo/Jonathan Richman/Velvet Underground.  Beginning with homemade cassettes in the late 90s, and moving on to touring the world and releasing “proper” albums on Rough Trade Records since 2001, Jeffrey’s career has included sharing bills and tours with the likes of The Vaselines, The Fall, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Roky Erickson, The Mountain Goats, Daniel Johnston, Devo, Pulp, and many other luminaries.  In between his contemplative folk narratives and garage indie-punk songs Jeffrey is known for including illustrated songs in concert, sometimes covering historical topics (like “The History of Cuba”), or strange flights of fancy (like “The Creeping Brain”).  Current band incarnation Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts features Mem Pahl on bass and Brent Cole on drums.  Rough Trade Records (label of The Smiths, The Strokes, etc.) has released the seventh Jeffrey Lewis album, “Manhattan,” mixed by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., War on Drugs), widely acclaimed as the best Jeffrey Lewis album to date; Jeffrey has self-published twelve issues of his comic book series Fuff, and Jeffrey’s writing, illustrations, comic books and music have been featured by The New York Times, NPR and The History Channel (among other places).

Jeffrey Lewis & Los Bolts will be joined by the enchanting Portland songstress Morgan Bouton and mellifluous female folk-choir Altar Boys.
