SPACE’s first live concert in 15 months (!) kicks off a summer of outdoor music programming, between cityscapes and across pastoral parks. Sunset sounds from hip-hop-r&b renaissance man Just Plain Jones and electro-pop soundweaver Just Milk at this very special outdoor show at Peaks Island’s historic Greenwood Garden. See cascobaylines.com/schedules for the ferry schedule.
Just Plain Jones is the nom-de-plume of Maine hip-hop renaissance man, Patrick Jones. Jones blends pan-idiomatic songwriting sensibilities with a mastery of r&b production from ethereal boom-bap to heavy electro-funk to sinewy neo-soul. His 2019 album Foie Gras is a seamless synthesis of all these styles, as well as a calling card for a rapper-producer of singular vision, purpose, and drive.
Just Milk is the self-produced solo project of sonic dreamweaver Tara Rook. With glowing synth-pop, dark disco, and dreamy vocals, she creates experimental, yet accessible tracks, blending electronic and organic elements. Just Milk is a cathartic experience and an expression of the awareness of human emotions.
