The Kindling Fund directly supports artists throughout the state of Maine by awarding project funding for $3000-$5000 that incorporate the visual arts in meaningful ways. The Fund is open to a wide range of experimental practices, particularly (but not limited to) those that emphasize collaboration. Each successful project must have a public component that shares and engages their project with Maine communities. SPACE administers the Kindling Fund as part of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program, which is currently active in 32 regions.
PDF of slides from the information session are available here.
Please contact info@space538.org with any particular eligibility questions you may have from SPACE staff if neither of those dates work for you.
Kindly note that the Kindling Fund is open to Maine resident artists to apply for independently organized projects only and is not a grant for 501c3 nonprofit organizations or programs taking place at 501c3 organizations.
