Lahnah and Pons with Gaud and Screaming Stars

Lahnah weaves noise and post-rock melody into unpredictably playful collages touching on deep seated inspiration from bands such as King Crimson and Deerhoof as well as the infectious experimental spirit of Bowie. Their sound draws on familiarity while walking their audience to the edge, with their obsessive songcraft and enigmatic character. The increasingly aspirational band is in the throes of their next release, Raunchadelic, prospectively coming in 2023.
Pons, New York’s hardest working band makes their Maine debut, delivering a mind-blowing high energy performance. This three piece band, featuring two drummers and one heavily effected guitar, produces the hairiest, most jagged, all out rock assault on the East Coast.
Gaud is a music and arts project from New England that uses sound and storytelling to explore the human social ecosystem. Finding fairytales in the study of change over time, and remaining “joyful even when all the facts have been considered”.
Screaming Stars is the songwriting project of Ashling Coviello-a tattooer and printmaker-who lives and works in the community of Portland. Ashling is a non-binary trans person, who identifies most deeply with feminist anthems by Tracy Chapman, Jewel, Cat Power and others. This comes through in their music, as do the haunting messages of the land they inhabit.
