Portland psych-folk songstress Lisa/Liza has shared the SPACE stage with indie folk giants such Angel Olson and Kaki King, comfortably holding her own and enchanting unsuspecting audiences. Last year’s Deserts of Youth, her first LP for Chicago-based Orindal Records won international praise from Pitchfork, Impose, Stereogum, and others for its elegant free-floating melodies and distinctively spacious songwriting. Her new record, Momentary Glance, her first full band affair, was recorded in Montreal with Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Efrim Menuck, alongside her bandmates Jonathan Downs (Ada), Pete Swegart (Ada, Greef, Diva Cup), and Devin Ivy. It will be released by Orindal on November 30th.
Lisa/Liza will be joined by local stargazing guru of outward-reaching jazz-laden compositions, respledent with avant-gardisms and melifluous melodies, Kafari and Boston penner of dirge-like anthems of endless expressionism, Bad History Month.
