Paper Sculpture with Petra Simmons

Explore paper through folding and cutting: in this workshop artist/designer Petra Simmons will lead us though a look at historic and contemporary paper folding examples and will teach us how to transform two-dimensional materials into three dimensional sculpture. Using basic folds we will make small objects individually and later will use these skills to create a larger collaborative project. Incorporating the principles of traditional Asian and Middle-Eastern folding and tessellation, this will be an exploration of techniques that you can use to experiment with your own designs!
