Sound Bodies : Yoga In the Aural Wilderness

Join us for an exploratory hour of yoga to the LIVE accompaniment of ambient sounds by three different recording artists. Proud/Father is an all tape recording project from the ruins of New Orleans, Louisiana, featuring noise bursts, tape collages, washes of distortion/reverb, and analogue synthesizers. Burlington, NC’s Lost Trail is the ambient/drone/noise/shoegaze project of husband and wife duo Zachary and Denny Corsa, that utilizes lo-fi and obsolete recording technology to evoke both man-made and natural environments. Remy Brecht‘s set touches on experimental noise, ritual ambient, drone, and esoteric world flourishes. Three 20-minute sessions of music and yoga, led by an instructor, will be an experiment in harsh beauty and meditation amidst chaos.
