Nashville born and bred William Tyler‘s 2010 album Behold The Spirit conjured ancient melodies, dead languages and ghosts with a mesmerizing blend of Appalachian drone and ambient noise alongside acoustic and electric guitar work that caused Pitchfork to declare it “arguably the most vital, energized album by an American solo guitarist in a decade or more.” Some may know Tyler from his playing in Lambchop, the Silver Jews, Wooden Wand and with Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy. Impossible Truth (on Merge Records) carries Tyler’s hallmark finger-picking style into beautiful sublimated pop territory, a ’70s singer-songwriter album sans lyrics, that’s informed by ecology, apocalypse and meditation. Two Portland artists, Aleric Nez and Christopher Pulsoni, bring their own lo-fi guitar aesthetics to complete the night.

You get what you deserve! We’ve added a second screening of Vera Drew’s riotous film The People’s Joker on Sunday, April 21st at 7 pm. Grab tickets now! Saturday’s screening SOLD OUT!
