Woods with Parquet Courts and Herbcraft

Formed in 2005 by Jeremy Earl, Woods makes a mix of sun-soaked pop and psychedelic meditations. Their 2012 release, Beyond Bend, is an excellent realization of the band’s aesthetics with strong songwriting throughout, anchored by Earl’s distinctive falsetto. New York by way of Texas’ Parquet Courts recently released their full-length debut Light Up Gold to a storm of praise for its sharp DIY-Americana meets punk style, where bright guitars swirl serpentine over looping, groovy, post-punk bass lines and drums that border on robotic precision.
