Durant Block
Carla Weeks
Durant Block is a forthcoming mural by Carla Weeks to be painted on the walls of the main venue.
Named for the historic building now home to SPACE Gallery, Durant Block draws from the structure’s exterior architecture and functional histories. Weeks translates elements from the building facade into a repeating composition of coded imagery. Layering site-specific architectural details with her own visual vocabulary, Weeks uses pattern as a tool to reflect on the ambiguous fluidity of memory.
