LAST DAZE
In the Gallery
For the past 10,000 years, humans have flourished on a pretty stable planet but scientists have been warning us that we are getting closer and closer to a much less-hospitable mother earth.
Many believe we live in a new geological epoch called Anthropocene or the Age of Man. This stems from the belief that human activity has irrevocably changed the composition of the atmosphere, the oceans, and even the earth’s crust. Essential resources are being drained by the billions of people on the planet at an unprecedented rate. Humanity has become an accelerated geological force. This also means that the transformations and changes occurring can become something humans can feel, touch, and experience.
In Last Daze, each artist explores the human impact on planet earth in this group show curated by Cinders Gallery from Brooklyn, NY. The artists are made up of a loose-knit community that have been curated by Cinders into an on-going series of thematic exhibitions over the past 10 years. The dialogue continues to expand with each show and this is the latest iteration.
