Studio Walls

For the month of March, SPACE has invited a group of artists to recreate an area of their studio/work-space walls in our main gallery. The idea for Studio Walls grew out of our interest in the consciously curated, shrine-like accumulations of visual materials that exist in a studio – postcards, trinkets, notes, magazine clippings, sketches, lists, prototypes, books, snapshots – and how these objects influence and inform an artist’s work. All of the artists in the show live in Maine and make work in a range of disciplines, including sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, illustration, and large-scale installations. Featuring installations by Greta Bank, Melinda Barnes, Amy Stacey Curtis, Meggan Gould, Friederike Hamann, Joe Kievitt, Scott Nash, Patrick O’Rorke, and Colin Sullivan-Stevens.
