Artist Statement
Unearthly Expeditions: Mount Analog is the first release from a series of fictional, supernatural, metaphysical, intangible, cerebral Explorer’s Club flags from Rosa Unearthly Goods®. It references the imaginary mountain from the French para-surrealist writer René Daumal’s novel, Mount Analogue: A Novel of Symbolically Authentic Non-Euclidean Adventures in Mountain Climbing. Daumal’s novel documents “an expedition undertaken by a group of mountaineers [who] travel to and climb the titular Mount Analogue, an enormous mountain on a surreal continent which is invisible and inaccessible to the outside world, and which can only be perceived by the application of obscure knowledge.
That which is above, knows what has been below. That which is below, knows not what is above. Knowledge in action.

Artist Bio
Dave Flynn is an artist & designer who runs the small interdependent lifestyle & apparel company Rosa Unearthly Goods®. Dave was born in 1989 in Upstate NY & holds a BFA in painting and an MFA in furniture design & woodworking. He suffers from creative ADD…thus, the inception of RUG in 2019.
He currently lives & works in the Hudson Valley of New York state and is the Creative Director for the Design Studio, Planetary Services; “a multi-dextrous band of outsiders seeking celestial knowledge to inspire unconventional projects.”
