Katie Fischer Cohen is an artist and designer with a B.S. in Communications and a minor in Fine Art, and an M.A. in Fine Art and Graphic Design from New York University. At NYU, she studied with artists Elizabeth Peyton and Mareen Gallace, whose approaches to intimacy, narrative, and materiality continue to inform her work.
Her career spans visual art, design, film, marketing, and events industry, with a consistent focus on thoughtful storytelling, craftsmanship, and audience experience. She began her professional career managing VIP guest lists and assisting with event production under Mark Baker (LOTUS), including Zac Posen’s debut show at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. She went on to work in independent film with Sean Gullette (Pi) before joining the marketing department at Endeavor Talent Agency. While in college, she also served as Executive Assistant to the President of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, gaining early exposure to nonprofit leadership and governance.
In 2008, Katie founded Katie Fischer Design — now The KFD Studio — a design atelier recognized for its high level of craftsmanship and timeless sensibility. Over seventeen years, the studio produced work commissioned by the American Museum of Natural History, the Boston Esplanade, Guild Hall, and A-list private clients, and was featured in VOGUE, The New York Times, Forbes, New York Magazine, and the Los Angeles Times. In 2026, she successfully sold the company.
Katie continues to maintain an active fine art and illustration practice. Most recently, she created illustrations for Melissa McNeeley’s book EasyFancy released on Amazon and in select East Coast bookstores.
Now based in Maine, Katie lives with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Gary. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, skiing, and surfing. She remains deeply engaged with creative communities and values the role that contemporary art spaces play in fostering dialogue, experimentation, and cultural connection.
