I’m slowly catching up to speed here, and it was this event that totally knocked me out.
This was a party about 6 months in the making. A shared birthday (between me and Jess), obsessive pinata-making, a love for cupcakes, and the desire to get as many of our friends to take off their pants as possible was what fueled The Feel Good Party Of The Winter!
Much much more after the jump…
The show kicked off with Sontiago and Dilly Dilly, who were amazing as always. Their set concluded with a surprise guest – Aly Spaltro of Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, who led a stunning dual-uke and electronic beats version of Destiny Child’s “Say My Name.” Everyone was floored. Next up came Feel It Robot, Bangor’s premiere amazing funtime post-punk dance party band. Yes, pants came off. At some point the pinatas started to get smashed and the bubble machine went on. The cupcakes were eaten, and there are rumors of a limbo contest. Somewhere in there Pretty & Nice played a blistering set, ending just about every song suddenly, but the bubbles and candy kept on flying.
