Beginning Saturday, December 16th, SPACE will connect the 2024 Poetry Hotline, a 24/7 call-in number and ongoing audio exhibit featuring a new poem every few weeks. The hotline number is 207-828-5607.
The first selection is “Ode to Friendship” by the Michigan-based Palestinian American poet Noor Hindi. Call 207-828-5607 to hear Noor read the poem.

“Ode to Friendship” is also the inspiration behind A Possible Practice: Surrender My Softness, a mail art project and book compiled by Alana Dao and meg willing through their collaboration A CLEARING. A Possible Practice is designed in conversation with Noor’s poem and includes work by Samaa Abdurraqib, janan alexandra, Alana Dao, Hannah DeAngelis, Audrey Gidman, Serena Himmelfarb, Noor Hindi, Pear Hug, Jenny Ibsen, E.J. Koh, Andy Mauery, Sarah Patterson, lauren samblanet, Gwendolyn Tatreaux, Stacey Tran, Arisa White, meg willing, and Golaleh Yazdani.

The 2024 Poetry Hotline is a screenless exhibition available to anyone with access to a phone. The 2024 Poetry Hotline offers audiences a direct line to Maine-based and national poets and their visions for the future, and another medium to connect and inspire audiences in a time of heartache, anger, love, humor, rage, and regeneration.
