If you were at SPACE for our Air Guitar Nation screening and competition a couple years ago, you were witness to the birth of a local legend. Erin “McNallica” McNally slayed the air guitar competition and has since gone on to win three regional New England air guitar titles in Boston, and is now preparing for her third shot at the Nationals in DC on August 7th.

On July 22nd and 23rd, SPACE will screen the great new documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil about Canadian metal demi-gods Anvil and McNallica is preparing a special introduction to the film that you won’t want to miss. Anvil! has racked up awards at festivals around the world and plays like a cross between American Movie and This is Spinal Tap (coincidentally, the drummer for Anvil is Robb Reiner, no relation). It’s alternately touching and hilarious and anyone who has ever spent time on the road or in the studio is bound to relate to the highs and lows of pursuing a musical dream. FYI, advance ticket sales are encouraged, we’re pretty sure this will be a sell-out affair.
