Here’s some good news: later this spring we’ll transform SPACE for our first full theatrical production, directed by Sean Mewshaw. Historically, we’ve had a tricky time fitting theater around all the other activity we do here, so this will be a great experiment. Sean says:
I’m excited to announce auditions for this deeply ridiculous, unabashedly impolite, contemporary dark comedy “Speech & Debate.” It’s about a trio of messed up lonely kids who take their first shot at making a mark on the world at large, and fail fantastically. It’s going to be great fun staging a full theatrical production for the first time in SPACE, and all we need now are some skilled, hilarious young actors to nail these characters and rip it up come curtain time. Our auditions run Thursday thru Saturday, Feb 5-7. Anyone and everyone is welcome. For the full details, check out www.speechatspace.blogspot.com
We’re really excited by Sean’s energy and are looking forward to the set design by Colin Sullivan-Stevens. Save the dates now: The play opens Sat. March 28, and we’ll run it Sun. March 29, Sat. April 4 and Sun. April 5.
